Literally everything you need is on there. This brings me to my next point: your BEST STUDY GUIDE IS THE CONTENT GUIDE. I knew I was pretty solid on this section so I only went through the content guide and made sure I knew every topic. I did not take any notes the first time around. I must have filled up an entire notebook just for P/S. Also, again like in B/B, this time around I took notes. I did 50 pages every Saturday for about 8 weeks and did the premed95 anki deck on the train to school during the weekdays. I was studying as if I'm in class and I have to write down what the professor (the book) is saying.įirst time around I used the 100 KA Doc but I only scored a 127, so I hit up the 300 page doc. The second time around I actually took notes.
The most major thing about what I did differently though is not necessarily which books I used but HOW I used them. This time around I used the Berkeley Review books. I figured that my content was lacking here, and so I went back to hit the books from the beginning. I also used UWorld passages and of course the AAMC qpacks. I used the Jack Westin daily passages and I think they're fantastic for building the necessary reading comprehension skills to tackle MCAT CARS but they're NOT good for getting that AAMC logic. Honestly there isn't much to it than practice, practice, practice. Looking at my score, I knew my C/P was solid, so I didn't work on that, but my other 3 sections needed work. I wasn't consistent with my hours and basically did a few hours here and other every day or so. I was all over the place with no schedule and what I studied each day. I thought my good science grades in college would basically be sufficient content review for most topics. I would watch a KA video and in the back of my head I'd think "oh yea I kinda remember this from gen chem Im good on that topic" and mentally move on. I felt like I knew a certain topic without actually knowing the details of it. Well here is what I did WRONG the first time around:

This brings me to my first point: Know your capabilities and know your goals.ĭo you think you could have done better? Do you think your first test just a fluke? did your score drop from your FLs to the real deal?
